Meet Treviso

Treviso is a frozen-feature model: every creative runs through a pretrained CLIP ViT-B/32 vision encoder whose weights are never touched, and the only thing we train is a small gradient boosted head (LightGBM) that maps the image embedding to an engagement rate. No fine-tuning, no training from scratch, nothing guessed from your brand or your budget. The pixels do the talking.

On held-out data it reaches a Spearman correlation of 0.71 with real engagement, and 0.78 pairwise accuracy when ranking sibling ads inside the same campaign. That pairwise number is the one we care about: same account, same budget, same audience, only the creative differs. Random guessing scores 0.5.

The results

Treviso was validated the hard way: held out by account with 5-fold cross validation, so every number comes from ads and advertisers the model had never seen. Cold start, no shortcuts, and it still ranks winning creatives correctly 78% of the time inside the same campaign.

The headline finding: budget and targeting context alone predicted nothing (0.53 pairwise, basically random), while the creative lifted ranking accuracy to 0.78. The creative, not the budget, drives engagement. That is exactly what Treviso reads, and exactly what this page scores.

What we learned

We also trained a sibling model, Bardolino, to predict conversion cost from the same creatives. It barely beat random (0.59 pairwise), which is a finding in itself: conversion depends on your offer, landing page and audience, not on the image. That is why this page scores engagement, the thing the creative actually controls, and why we publish the numbers instead of pretending to predict your sales.

  • Scores your creative against the full corpus in seconds
  • Explains what is working and what to fix, from the pixels alone
  • Ranks your variants so you launch the strongest one
  • Your image is used only for scoring and improving the model

The score predicts relative engagement, meaning how your creative ranks against real Meta ads. It is not a sales forecast or a guaranteed CTR.

How the score is calculated

  1. A vision model reads the image

Your upload is downscaled to at most 1,024 pixels and run through CLIP ViT-B/32, a pretrained image encoder whose weights we never change. It turns the image into an embedding: a list of numbers that describes what is in the picture.

  2. A small model predicts engagement

A gradient boosted model (LightGBM), trained on 13,622 real Meta ads and their real engagement, maps that embedding to a predicted engagement rate. It sees only the image, not your brand, budget, targeting or the ad text outside the image.

  3. The prediction becomes a percentile

Your score is where that prediction ranks against the 13,622 ads in the training set. A score of 70 means your creative is predicted to out-perform 70% of them. 80 and above reads as a top performer, 60 to 79 as strong, 40 to 59 as average and under 40 as below average.

  4. A second model writes the breakdown

A vision language model looks at the same image and lists what works and what to fix. It is told the score band but never changes the score, and the score still comes back if the breakdown fails.

What the score means

The score ranks engagement: how your creative compares with real Meta ads. It is not a sales forecast, a CTR promise or a cost per conversion. On ads and advertisers it had never seen, Treviso reaches a 0.71 Spearman correlation with real engagement and ranks the better of two ads in the same campaign 78% of the time, where guessing scores 50%.

What happens to your image

The image and its score are stored so the team can study what people test and improve the model. Your IP address is kept only as a one-way hash. No account is needed.
