Foreplay does one thing well: it helps a creative team find, save and study ads, then write a brief. The search for an alternative usually starts when that stops being the bottleneck.
Some teams outgrow the analytics side. Lens covers one brand on Workflow and ten on Agency, and a brand spending heavily across Meta, TikTok and YouTube may want a platform built mainly around its own accounts. Others want a bigger research suite with tracking and AI in every seat. And a third group, often small businesses, realises that a swipe file full of great ads does not help if nobody on the team can make one.
Basic is $59 a month, or $49 a month on the annual toggle, for one user with Swipe File, Discovery and Briefs. Workflow is $175 a month ($149 annual) for five users and adds Spyder, Lens for one brand, the MCP and API. Agency is $459 a month ($389 annual). Extra users are $20 a month. The 7-day trial needs a card. Vibiz has no free plan or trial: Pro is $79 a month, or $63 a month billed yearly. See Vibiz vs Foreplay for the full comparison.
Sort the options by what you want to happen after you find a good ad.
Study it more deeply. Atria is the nearest like-for-like: an ad library, tracking of 50 to 200 brands, account analytics and AI-written concepts and scripts, with five seats on Core. It costs more, and only annual prices are published.
Measure your own ads. Motion is creative analytics first: AI tags every ad by hook, format and angle, reports sit beside the creative, and agents review ads before launch. At $999 a month for up to $50k of monthly spend, it is for accounts with real budgets. Madgicx leans toward automation and ad management for ecommerce, priced by spend inside the app.
Make something like it. AdCreative.ai pairs Competitor Insights with a creative generator and a low yearly entry price, but meters by credits and does not launch.
Make it and run it. Vibiz takes a reference, uploaded or picked from its Discover library, and uses the Recreate flow to produce your own version, then launches it on Meta or as Google Search and Display campaigns and builds the landing page. It does not track competitors, so keep a research tool if that is part of your weekly routine. The AI ad generator page shows the output.
Take three ads you saved last month. In whichever tool you are trialling, see how long it takes to get from those references to something live in your ad account, and what it costs in seats, credits and fees. That number tells you more than any feature list.
