Sprout Social is a good product with a pricing model that punishes growth. As of October 2026 the plans page lists Standard at $199, Professional at $299 and Advanced at $399 per seat per month, with annual billing printed beside the trial. Unlimited profiles start on Professional, and sentiment, the API and care reports sit on Advanced. Listening and Premium Analytics are extra on top. A team of four on Professional is well over a thousand dollars a month before any add-on, and every new hire means another seat.
The second reason is that Sprout manages content rather than producing it. AI Assist and the Trellis agent help with wording and with reading your data, but someone still has to make the images and videos.
Same shape, lower price. Agorapulse is the closest in spirit: an all-in-one inbox, moderation rules, assignments, team reports and a social ROI report fed by Google Analytics. It still bills per user, but Standard starts well below Sprout's Standard, and there is a free plan with three profiles and ten scheduled posts. Hootsuite is the other like-for-like option, at similar per-seat prices, with 90-day trend forecasts and automatic boosting of top posts on Professional.
Flat or brand-based pricing. Sendible removes seats entirely: every plan has unlimited users, from Core at $35 a month for one workspace and six profiles up to Enterprise with 300 profiles and SSO. Loomly charges per plan, with three users on Starter and unlimited users on Beyond, plus approval workflows from the first tier. Metricool charges by brand and is the best fit if what you really used Sprout for was reports.
Make the content too. Vibiz is the different pick. It reads your site, builds the brand kit and drafts a month of designed social posts for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Telegram. It also launches Meta and Google campaigns and builds the landing page. Pro is $79 a month, or $63 a month billed yearly for the workspace. It has no free plan or trial, no listening and no review management, so a care team should not switch to it.
Write down the three Sprout features you opened most last month. If they are the inbox, assignments and reports, trial Agorapulse or Hootsuite and rebuild those exact views. If they are publishing and approvals, Sendible and Loomly will cover you for less. If what you lacked was content, run your URL through Vibiz and see whether its first month of drafts is good enough to publish. The detail behind each switch is in Vibiz vs Sprout Social and Vibiz vs Sendible.
